πFun American Flag Facts!π
β The American flag has 50 stars β one for each state in the United States.
π΄βͺ The flag has 13 stripes β representing the original 13 colonies that became the first states.
π
Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th every year because that's the day the United States adopted the flag in 1777.
π Every time a new state joins the United States, a new star is added to the flag.
π΄βͺπ΅ The American flag is often called "Old Glory."
π The American flag has even been taken to the Moon! Astronauts placed flags there during the Apollo missions.
π The current 50-star flag has been used since 1960 when Hawaii became the 50th state.
π¨ A high school student named Robert Heft designed the 50-star flag as a school project in 1958!
π« Schools, homes, businesses, and government buildings fly the American flag to show pride in our country.
π€ When saying the Pledge of Allegiance, many people place their right hand over their heart to show respect for the flag.
β€οΈ Happy Flag Day, Trailblazers! Let's celebrate the symbol that represents our country's history, freedom, and unity! βππ€β€οΈ
