Grateful for all the experiences and memories from WLC! 💙💛

Our final day of WLC began with the Meals on Wheels service project! Members packaged over 60,000 breakfast meals to be donated to the D.C. metro area!

We then traveled to Arlington National Cemetery where members visited the gravesite of John F. Kennedy, watched the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and visited Arlington House.

Bryson, Greg, Ashton, Ben, Alex, and Mrs. Fannik ate at Fogo de Chao while Morgan, Lizzy, and Tucker took in the Air and Space Museum, and the American History Museum on the National Mall.

Tonight, our members will gather with other WLC members for one final night of networking, making memories, and celebrating their plans to make a difference in their communities. It’s been such a fun week!

FFA members flooded the U.S. Capitol steps this morning! We were met by interns from Senator Kevin Cramer’s office and given an exceptional tour of the Capitol building.

We traveled to and explored Union Station for lunch before returning back to the hotel. This afternoon, our members worked on their Living to Serve plans and spent some more time networking with other members in their community groups!

WLC Day 2 started out with community and large group sessions for our members. This evening, we were able to tour many of the national monuments. To end the evening, Bryson was given a private tour of the West Wing of the White House. Such an incredible opportunity!

Our members are making new friends and learning about ways to advocate in their communities. It’s been great seeing them network with other FFA members over these first couple days!

We made it to D.C.! Eight of our FFA members are attending Washington Leadership Conference, and we are just wrapping up day 1. We started with a tour of the Holocaust Memorial Museum, followed by lunch at Old Ebbitt Grill, one of the oldest restaurants in Washington D.C.

This afternoon we met up with John Reiten, who works under Secretary Burgum as the Deputy Executive Director at the National Energy Dominance Council. Through our meeting with him, we learned all about the energy industry at the federal level and the impact of their work on North Dakota’s economy. We were given an overview tour of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which is located just to the west of the White House. We were right outside the Oval Office!

WLC officially kicks off tonight with evening sessions for our students where they will begin to interact with other FFA members from across the country!
