Dragon's Head Cider
Uptown
9815 SW Bank Road
Vashon, WA 98070
https://www.dragonsheadcider.com/
Dragon’s Head Cider stands firm in their commitment to crafting top-tier hard ciders through a traditional approach, eschewing apple juice concentrate, excessive sweeteners, or additional flavors. They believe in letting the inherent story of apples and pears shine through, keeping their process refreshingly straightforward: pressing high-quality fruits, fermenting the juice, and bottling the result. With a steadfast belief that maintaining control over every step is crucial to crafting exceptional cider, they handle pressing, fermentation, blending, and bottling all on their farm. Wes and Laura Cherry, who relocated to Vashon Island in 2010 with a vision of establishing an orchard and cidery, have since seen their dream blossom into reality. Today, their orchard flourishes with cider apple and perry pear trees, while their award-winning ciders find homes in Washington and Oregon, as well as directly reaching consumers through their tasting room, website, and cider club. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dragon’s Head Cider for their generous support as a Bronze level sponsor of Vashon Events. Your dedication is deeply appreciated!

The Buckaroosters mine the gems from ’59 to ’69 - the sweet spot in the Buck repertoire - and honor the great singing, harmonies and twang that make this music so compelling. Joining Dave are Nova ’She-Buck’ Devonie on bass, accordion and vocals; Kelly Van Camp on drums, harmonica and vocals and Dan Tyack on pedal steel to round out the authentic Bakersfield sound of legend.

Subconscious Population
Vashon Sugar Shack
Friday, July 24th
7:30pm
21+
Food & full bar available

Subconscious Population is one of Vashon Island’s most iconic and enduring bands — a genre‑blending, groove‑driven collective that has shaped the island’s musical identity for decades. Fronted by longtime island artist and musician Ron Hook, the band fuses rock, reggae, boogie, and funk into a sound that’s instantly recognizable and deeply tied to Vashon’s creative spirit.

Their original songs — including hypnotic favorites like “Jah Lee Kali,” “Funkified,” and “One in a Million” — have become part of the island’s unofficial soundtrack, drifting across summer nights, outdoor gatherings, and countless community events. Every performance is a free‑flowing, unpredictable ride: the band mixes beloved originals with reimagined covers, sometimes dropping in mind‑bending versions of classics like Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” or Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower.”

Subconscious Population’s legacy is inseparable from Vashon itself. Hook’s artistic life — spanning music, visual art, and decades of island culture — has made him a local legend, with longtime islanders noting how his work reflects “what’s been lost forever on Vashon Island over the last 25 years.”

As an added bonus, keyboardist Tony Mann will be joining them for this show!

Live, the band is a sweet, rocking, soulful adventure — the kind of show where you never quite know what’s coming next, except that it will be unforgettable. Another "don't miss" concert at the Vashon Sugar Shack!
