Foss Miller | October 2, 1947 - April 6, 2026 - Vashon-Maury Island Beachcomber Vashon Island lost one of our most dear residents on April 6, as Foss Miller passed away peacefully after an extended illness. Foss, 78, was known on the Island as the founder of the “bone factory” and as an active community member who often coached youth basketball and track & field.

Dear Sawbones Community,

It is with a very heavy heart that we share that Foss Miller, our pioneering founder, passed away this past week. In this time of loss, we extend our deepest condolences to Foss's family, friends, and colleagues.
We recognize and appreciate the lasting impact he made on so many lives, both personally and professionally.
We offer our gratitude to the man that had the vision to start this company and honor the wonderful legacy he has left behind by continuing to carry that vision forward. His deep commitment to advancing medical education, his strong work-ethic and steady guidance made him an inspiration to us all.
