This spring and summer, Save First Financial Wellness partnered with Cherokee Federal to bring culturally responsive financial education to refugee communities across Texas. From San Antonio to Houston, Molly O’Donnell and I witnessed resilience, heart, and a deep commitment to building generational wealth. We didn’t just teach, we learned, connected, and grew alongside incredible communities. Financial wellness is more than numbers; it’s empowerment, respect, and opportunity.
Want to bring this transformation to your community? Let’s connect by sending us an email at [email protected] and following us on social media!

From shutdown to springboard: When Save First Financial Wellness faced closure in 2023, our team, led by Executive Director Molly O’Donnell, turned challenge into opportunity. Thanks to strong community partnerships and the support of Lighthouse Financial Foundation, Save First relaunched as an independent nonprofit within weeks. Today, we’re serving more families and businesses across Oregon and SW Washington, with a renewed mission to expand financial wellness access and impact. This is more than our story; it’s about the power of community, partnerships, and resilience. Thank you to FINRA for spotlighting Save First Financial Wellness.
