Hello, Chartisha here, following up with some post election-night results. Just over half of our ballots have been counted so far and my opponent holds a narrow lead. At the end of each business day there will be results released from the counting of more ballots, so we won't be able to predict the winner of my race with certainty for some time.
That being said, it has been an honor to be afforded the opportunity to meet and build relationships with so many individuals and communities who are doing great work to make Clark County better. Making Clark County better was always the mission of my campaign and the purpose of running for office. Working together with the people who are fighting for this as well has been one of the many blessings of this campaign.
My 2022 campaign was one of trail-blazing, pioneering, "first-ing", or however you'd like to refer to the fact that I was the first black woman to run for Clark County Council, and ran a highly competitive race in an ideologically-mixed and primarily white community. This, I know, will open the doors for more diverse candidates to run. BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized persons will have more role models to follow and compete and win in elections throughout the county until the entire county becomes a safe space for ALL of its residents to put themselves out there to run.
This has been a community effort. I would not have gotten nearly this far without your support. Your enthusiasm for changing things for the better, for living your truth, for being the change you want to see, is what has gotten us this far and is why we will continue to make gains. I know that we are going to remain in this fight together and I am deeply grateful for that.
In solidarity, Chartisha

We are so proud to sport the endorsement of the local firefighters union IAFF Local 452. They work hard to keep our community safe and Chartisha is looking forward to making sure they are supported by the county with adequate funding and staffing.
