🥓🥬 Cooking with Care: BLT Salad Edition! 🍅

Our Cooking with Care group was back in the kitchen last week, whipping up a fresh and flavorful BLT Salad! Residents helped prepare the ingredients, shared kitchen tips, and enjoyed creating a simple summer-inspired dish together.

Cooking activities are about more than just food—they provide opportunities to build skills, spark memories, encourage independence, and enjoy good company. Of course, getting to taste the finished product is always a bonus!

Great food and great conversation made this another successful Cooking with Care session.

🎤 Standing Room Only for Karaoke! 🎶

Our latest Karaoke Social brought in a full house at The Evergreen! Residents packed the living room, eager to take their turn at the microphone or cheer on friends as they belted out their favorite tunes.

From classic hits to crowd favorites, there was no shortage of music, laughter, and applause. Between performances, we also enjoyed spending some time watching favorite music videos and reminiscing about the songs and artists that have shaped our lives.

Whether singing center stage or enjoying the show from the audience, everyone helped make it an afternoon to remember!

🎳 Strike Up Some Fun! 🎳

After a brief social media break, we're excited to share some of the fun our residents have been having out in the community!

This week, a group of residents hit the bowling lanes with Jayde and showed off some serious talent. From impressive strikes to friendly competition, there were plenty of reasons to cheer. Most importantly, everyone enjoyed spending time together, sharing laughs, and making new memories.

Who knew we had so many skilled bowlers at The Evergreen? We can't wait for our next trip to the lanes!

Our bi-monthly Bingo game brought out plenty of excitement, friendly competition, and laughter as residents and staff gathered together for an afternoon of fun. From great prizes to great company, every round was filled with anticipation and cheering.

A big congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to everyone who joined in and made the day so special. We can't wait for the next game! 🎁😊

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Jayde, recognized for Team Spirit through our EPIC ACTS values!

Jayde, our amazing Life Enrichment Assistant, has truly grown up here at Evergreen Inn. Over the years, she has worked as a server, cook, and now in Life Enrichment — and in every role, she continues to shine brighter and brighter. Her energy, compassion, and positivity light up the days of residents and staff alike.

Jayde was voted Employee of the Month because she is always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed. Whether she’s filling in kitchen shifts, assisting residents while they wait for caregivers, or helping keep communication flowing throughout the building, Jayde consistently goes above and beyond.

She builds genuine relationships with everyone around her and is always celebrating the successes of her coworkers both inside and outside of work. Her kindness, teamwork, and dedication make a lasting impact on our community every single day.

Jayde is truly one of a kind, and we are so grateful to have her as part of the Evergreen Inn family!

Our weekly ice cream social continues to be one of our favorite times to gather together, share stories, enjoy sweet treats, and celebrate one another. From laughter around the tables to extra scoops of friendship, these moments remind us how special community truly is!

Big things are rolling at Evergreen Inn! 🚌✨

We’re excited to share that Jayde has officially completed her training and is now safely driving our 13-passenger bus! She has worked incredibly hard to prepare for this role, and we’re so proud to see her hit the road with our residents.

This means even more opportunities for community outings, adventures, scenic drives, shopping trips, and creative experiences ahead. We can’t wait to see all the fun places Jayde will help our residents explore in the future! 💙

Gramma, Marilyn, and Mary spent the afternoon working on a painting project together in our living room — sharing smiles, creativity, and the special bond they’ve built over many years of friendship. Their love of art continues to bring joy, connection, and plenty of happy memories to our community!

Today, we share the passing of a truly beloved member of our Evergreen Inn family, Rhonda McCafferty. ❤️
10/5/1954 – 5/20/2026

For nearly 27 years, Rhonda filled our community with laughter, kindness, faith, and friendship. Joining Evergreen Inn in 1999, she quickly became one of the most recognizable and cherished faces in our home. Whether serving on the Resident Committee Board, welcoming others as a Resident Ambassador, or simply sharing her bright smile in the halls, Rhonda made Evergreen a better place for everyone around her.

Rhonda was many things — an artist, a collector, a crafter, a bowling champion in the Special Olympics, and perhaps one of the biggest fans of Emergency! and Randolph Mantooth you could ever meet. Her famous pin collection was unmatched, but even more unforgettable was the joy and light she carried with her every day.

Most of all, Rhonda lived her faith openly and lovingly. God’s love flowed through her into our community in countless ways, and we are deeply grateful for the years we were blessed to share with her.

Rhonda passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family and her Evergreen family.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved. ❤️

This week’s Cooking with Care turned into a fun little “raid the fridge” challenge — and the results were delicious! 🍊🥗 Together we created a fresh and healthy citrus salad packed with bright flavors, colorful ingredients, and plenty of creativity. Our residents always have such a great time cooking together, trying new combinations, and turning simple ingredients into something special. Another tasty afternoon filled with teamwork, laughter, and good food! ✨
