Tonight around the farm we found baby chicks in the coop and now we’re working on peeling green beans. Life is good.

Pulled the onions and let them dry out. Now we will snip the tops and bottoms and store them!

Some early morning baking around here as we wait for the day to warm up. Sourdough cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven before we head out to plant more onions and check on the chickens.

This year as we transitioned back to Texas, we took our time getting back in the swing of homesteading. With only a few hours to spare, I completed my goal of learning to make sourdough and homemade cheese for 2021. I’m so thankful for such a sweet community to learn from, especially dear friends and neighbors. My new goals for 2022 are to learn to preserve more of our homegrown produce. And that doesn’t make me nervous at all. Ok, who am I kidding? It makes me nervous. Lol But here is to doing the things that make us nervous, but are totally worth it!
Happy New Year’s to everyone!

I know it is time to approach a new year when our seed magazine start coming in! I think it is one of the best ways to close out our year and begin thinking about a new one. We look forward to all that the Lord will sow and harvest in 2022. May it be a year of fruitfulness for us all.

The last remnants of summer are upon us as we transition into the shorter days and cooler temps. After nearly a year we are still settling back into a rhythm. Funny what comes back naturally and what you have to relearn. Regardless, we’re so thankful to be back on the land. Happy Fall, Y’all!
