Sisters in Faith is a newly formed group at Bayside Community Church- Riverview Campus, created by combining a morning and an evening group. The group's mission is to help women know God, find family, discover purpose, and find freedom. It aims to foster a sense of community, growth, and inclusion through regular meetings, small group discussions, themed gatherings, service projects, social events, and prayer partnerships. Sisters in Faith provides a supportive and nurturing environment where women can deepen their faith, build meaningful relationships, and experience God's love together.

My newest obsession and madness, Lilo! She’s a traditional or “throwback” Pomeranian and she’ll get pretty big. She’s 6 months weighing in at 12 lbs.
I've never seen an interview that resonated with me so deeply. Drew Barrymore talks about forgiving yourself and being hard on yourself. She describes so perfectly what it's like to live with an inner critic constantly berating you 24/7, and how to let yourself off the hook. It's so good! Check it out!
Today, I’m dealing with overwhelm. Yes, it’s exciting to work on multiple projects but also at times, I feel like I’m barely keeping my head above water. The good news (that I keep reminding myself) is that it will all get done if I take it one step at a time. Breathe, make a list and then complete one task. When it’s finished, move onto the next. For me, there’s no greater feeling of satisfaction then crossing an item off of my “to-do“ list. Let’s get going!
Does anyone else want it NOW? The career, the house, the partnership, the family? Am I the only one? The funny thing is, for those of us who run from moment to moment, in search of the end (result), we’re missing out on a lot. Stop for a moment. Breathe and take in the beauty of life, look around. Appreciate the little moments. One day you’ll realize that smile, those tears, that hug are the moments that make life worth living. Like a seed, nothing grows overnight. It takes sunshine, water and patience for the seedling to grow. So do you,
Perfectionism. For some of us, the horror (yes, horror!) of making a mistake is rooted in childhood. Heart racing, sweaty palms, afraid to raise your hand in class because you might get the wrong answer. Taking the chance and getting it wrong, then deciding to never do that again. Another student gets it wrong and tries again anyway. Eventually, they‘ll get one right. Go ahead, take that chance, what’s the worst that can happen? You will learn and eventually, you’ll get it right.
I’ m grateful for this week. Not because it’s over, because let’s be honest, I’m a woman and my work is never done; there’s always dishes in the sink, laundry to do, or another project that needs my attention. I’m grateful for the mistakes, because I lived in spite of them. I did my best and at the end of the day, there’s satisfaction in that. And I learned. We fall down and we get up again. We’ll do better next time. Keep breathing and keep going.
I’ve been thinking about authenticity lately and how many times we lose out on connections because of it, because we’re scared to not be polite, or follow social mores. It’s intimidating to go against the grain, but when we’re our authentic selves, that‘s when we’re happiest, fulfilled and connected. I know I’m guilty of it, even though I hate exchanging pleasantries. There’s so much more beneath the surface. Maybe take a chance and connect with someone today? Who knows, maybe you’ll find your people?
Expressing gratitude this morning for the little things. It’s the first sip of coffee in the morning that hits my soul with aroma and goodness, that meal you’ve eaten when you’re really hungry, that glass of water when you come outside from the Florida sunshine, so many things, I don’t have time to list them all. Thank you Lord, for your providence in my life as well. I don’t know where I would be without you. Thank you!
No curated or cute content. Just the truth. I’m terrified of making mistakes, of letting others down, of not being perfect. But you know what? Perfection isn’t real, it isn’t attainable and it isn’t how we learn. I’m deciding today that in order to “fail forward” I have to allow myself the grace to make mistakes. Allow yourself to take the plunge. You don’t have to know exactly what you’re doing. You don’t have to be an “expert”. Just start somewhere and know that it’s ok to fall. You will. Get up and keep going.
Happy Friday everyone!
Much love!
