It has always been my prayer that my work would allow me to stand behind the scenes in support of those who have spent their lives standing on the front lines.
On July 25, Covesa Kelly Events had the incredible honor of serving as the event planning company for the 2026 Cleveland NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner: Made for the Moment, held in the Atrium Ballroom at Huntington Convention Center.
This video beautifully captures what filled that room—generations of leadership, service, sacrifice, community and an unwavering commitment to the work that still remains.
And perhaps no words captured the spirit of the evening more powerfully than those of Rev. Dr. Otis Moss Jr. At 91 years old, he reminded us:
“I’m still ready to march.”
What an extraordinary reminder that none of us gets to simply admire the legacy. We each have a role in carrying it forward.
For me, that role often happens behind the curtain—building the room, creating the experience and supporting the people whose voices and work deserve to be amplified.
It was my complete honor to serve , its leadership, Rev. Dr. Otis Moss Jr. and Mrs. Edwina Moss, Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III, Kevin Clayton, the honorees, sponsors and every person who gathered in that room.
