Would anyone be open to fosters a St Bernard so we can save her?

Her name is Pixie and she will turn 3 years old in September. Rescued from a rough situation where she was living outdoors and there were maggots in her food bowl.

From her rescuer:
“She has been incredible. She is a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful dog… She is very scared of storms though. We are blow drying outside and we had a loud boom of thunder, and if she could’ve gotten into my arms she would have.”

To open up the new “season”, we held a small event at the dog park this morning to honor and celebrate some of the four-legged friends who made the dog park such a great place to hang out.
Thanks to Patricia Mezynski, Jo Ann Scala, Jackie Siniscalchi and Angela Blueler for celebrating their dog families with us.

I know this group is primarily dog-adjacent but the owner of this cat - lost from its cat-sitter on Carroll Avenue in Valley Stream some 20 days ago - is desperate and at her wit’s end. If anybody recognizes him or has seen him recently please contact the owner. Details below.

Regrettably we have decided not hold our annual Howloween dog-in-costume parade this year. Several of the key players from our side have simply been too busy and we could not find a date which would work for enough of us to organize and run the event as you have come to expect.
I want to stress that we do plan to run the event once again next year, and will start our planning early enough to ensure that is the case.
With apologies to all and don’t forget that any costumes you may have planned to parade this year will be just as good next year 😝
