Yesterday Engine 2 responded to a Signal 10 house fire on E Lincoln Avenue. Our members assisted Engine 341 with the first hose line for a fire in the basement. While taking up from the fire we received a mutual aid to Elmont for a house fire. We assisted Tower Ladder 345 and helped with overhaul.

This past Thursday, Ex-Captain Brian Grogan organized and led a multi-company training at the Elmont Fire Department Training Center with members from Engine 3, Engine 4, and Truck 2.

Firefighters trained on forcible entry, stretching and advancing hose lines, and search operations, working under real fire and smoke conditions under the supervision of the Red Line Fire Training Group. Trainings like this ensure our members stay sharp and prepared for the challenges we face on the fireground.

After the drill, members gathered back at Engine 2 for food and a critique of operations to review what went well and what we can continue to improve on.

Thank you to the Elmont Fire District for the use of their training facility and their continued support of firefighter training.

Strong leadership means investing in training and preparation. Ex-Captain Grogan remains committed to keeping our members ready and our community protected.

Last Sunday evening, Engine 2 members stood by in quarters overnight for the blizzard. Ex-Captain Grogan led our company. Members responded to runs in near white out conditions. Thank you to our members for taking time away from their families to serve the community.

Last evening Engine 2 was first due to a car fire against a home on Albermarle Avenue. One line was stretched and put into operation, however a burried hydrant delayed hydrant water. Captain Velez led the company.
