A warm bath and some warm food; lots of belly rubs and hugs can do wonders. Benji (formerly PETRO) has a long way to go, but we'll make sure all of his medical and emotional needs are taken care of. We learned tonight that dog fighting rings spray paint their bait dogs to show which dog goes with which match. Benji was spray painted purple. 🥲

This sweet boy was found abandoned at a rural gas station. He had been spray painted purple, and the finder reports it looks like he had been attacked by some kind of animal. We have taken in quite a few dogs with medical needs in the last couple of weeks, and there are never enough funds it seems, but we took one look at his face and knew he needed help. We have named him Petro and he's on his way to our vet as I write this. If you would like to support Petro with his medical needs, here are the links to help. Thank you for your support.

Happy 12th Birthday to our sweet boy Marshall! 3 years ago we pulled Marshall from a rural shelter....we were hopeful, but Marshall was very sick. He was Heart-worm positive, needed hip surgery, was very anemic, and had so many wounds over his body. Today, he is living his best life with his loving family, and we are so grateful all of our lives were touched by this angel boy. 💙 Love and care can change the world!

Ok Village, we need help. We have been asked to help this sweet older girl find a soft place to fall while she is treated for Heartworms. Right this minute, she's in a rural Animal Control, on a concrete floor, with no medication being given to keep the Heartworms from growing and spreading. Miss Ruby is very sweet, gentle, and really needs a hero. The longer she is ignored and not treated, the faster she suffers and eventually dies a horrible death. Please consider fostering her to get her out of the AC and to start treatment asap. It just takes one person to open their home to save this girls life. Please message us!

This is what neglect looks like: Joe lived his life on a chain. His body has cuts and scabs all over; his back legs have no muscle from never walking or playing, and his ears are on fire from infection. He got to the Ranch today and his eyes tell a story we don't want to hear. Today is the first day of the best, rest of his life! ❤️ If you would like to be a part of Joe's recovery, a donation of any amount would help so much. We are figuring that he's Heartworm +, we will start him in water therapy once he's stronger, and we can see his left eye starting to progress with glaucoma. We have a vet appointment for him tomorrow, and an eye specialist appointment set for next week. Thank you in advance for any help with Joe's recovery. 🙏

A plea to our Village....we need fosters! We have 3 older dogs who need fosters immediately. The Ranch is busting at the seams, and we can't keep up with all the requests for help. The Ranch pays for everything....food, supplies, vetting. Everything. Please consider opening your home to an older dog who needs a soft place to fall. Message us if interested and we will send you info on each dog. Thank you for considering. All of these dogs are dog friendly!

This is an example of the requests to help dogs that we get every day. We try to say yes to as many as possible, but we don't have enough space, money, or volunteers. Today, one look at this poor broken dog, and we knew he needed us. Living on a chain his entire life, he has no idea what love feels like; or a warm, soft bed, or a warm meal, or a warm hug. Joe is coming to us on Wednesday...he'll soon know all of it. 💙
