Welcome to our new Director of Goaltending, Slayer Rodriguez. 👏🏻

“Born and raised in Southern California, I began my hockey journey as a goaltender at age 12, playing both roller and ice hockey in Westminster. My passion for coaching developed later as a parent when I recognized the limited development resources available to youth goaltenders, particularly those in underserved communities.

Over the past five years, I have dedicated myself to helping young athletes refine their technical skills, build confidence, and elevate their overall performance. I founded Outlaw Goaltender, an independent goalie development program, and currently lead the in-house goalie department at Toyota Sports Performance Center, creating opportunities for athletes of all ages and skill levels to learn, develop, and pursue excellence in their game.

As a USA Hockey Level 3 Certified Coach, USA Hockey Goaltending Instructor, and Director of Goaltending for the SC Flyers, I focus on developing skating, crease efficiency, situational awareness, and game management while fostering accountability, discipline, and a strong work ethic. My goal is to enhance each athlete’s hockey IQ, technical abilities, and mental resilience, empowering them to compete with confidence and reach their full potential both on and off the ice.

As an active goaltender, I continue to train and compete, allowing me to bring current techniques, evolving strategies, and real-world experience to every session. I am committed to creating a positive and supportive environment where athletes can grow not only as players, but also as individuals, developing skills and character that extend far beyond the rink.”

We love to highlight our Flyers in all achievements within hockey and outside of hockey. Congratulations to Roman Castillo, Charles Gao, Oliver Stefanovic, and Daniel Bondarev on receiving the Gold Presidential Award for outstanding academic achievement. Your hard work on and off the ice has paid off. Great way to end an important chapter of your lives. We continue to look forward to seeing all of your achievement as you move on to 7th grade!

Time to prepare for Tryouts… in hockey there is no time off. Take advantage of the last coaches times before tryouts and join us for pre-tryout clinics starting today, June 1st. We can’t wait to see you all out on the ice!
