High in the Colorado mountains, one military family is beginning a week filled with adventure, connection, and unforgettable moments at Black Mountain Ranch.
Designed to provide families with time to reconnect away from the demands of daily life, this experience combines the beauty of the outdoors with meaningful opportunities to relax, laugh, and grow together.
Whether exploring the ranch, gathering around the campfire, or simply soaking in the mountain views, every moment is a reminder of the strength found in family and community.
We are honored to create spaces where military families can recharge, make lasting memories, and experience the healing power of adventure together.

We are incredibly grateful to the Vail Resorts Epic Promise Foundation for helping make life-changing experiences possible for our veterans and their families.
With their generous support, we provided adaptive lessons, specialized equipment, and lift access to 53 wounded veterans and their families through our programs this winter!
Because of partners like Epic Promise Foundation, our Nation’s Heroes and their families are empowered to build confidence, strengthen family bonds, and discover new possibilities on the slopes.
Thank you for helping us create moments of healing, growth, and connection that extend far beyond the mountains.

“What Memorial Day Means To Me”
Memorial Day always reminds me
Of those we lost on air, land, and sea
From the Revolutionary War to Today’s battles
These Soldiers looked death in the face and never rattled
The road to freedom is bathed in blood, sweat, and tears
These were the Soldiers who held back our fears
Freedom, they say is never free
The ultimate sacrifice of their lives they gave to this creed
So, many lives will continue to be lost
It seems Freedom does come as a cost
To empty chairs at the dinner table
I say sit and enjoy as you are able
For these men went gladly overseas
So, we can eat today totally free
So, for me fighting and dying for a cause you cannot see
Is, what Memorial Day means to me

Through deployments, relocations, and everything in between, military spouses are the steady foundation behind our service members. At Vail Veterans Program, we are proud to serve the “force behind the force” through our family and caregiver programs—supporting the strength, connection, and community they build every day.
Today and every day, we celebrate you!

Today, we celebrate National Adaptive Sports Day—and the countless lives the adaptive sports community has helped transform.
One in four Americans lives with a disability, yet adaptive sports are only beginning to receive the recognition they deserve. Beyond competition, adaptive sports build confidence, restore purpose, and redefine what’s possible.
At Vail Veterans Program, we’re honored to serve our veteran athletes through immersive in-person programs and year-round virtual fitness challenges that keep them connected, motivated, and moving forward.
Every day, these veterans embody resilience and determination—proving that strength isn’t defined by limitations, but by the courage to push beyond them.
Join us in celebrating the power of adaptive sports and the community behind it.
