I have a Nose Work Intro group class starting in Vacaville on Monday November 11th at 7 pm! There are 3 spots left!

Nose work is an activity in which the dog is taught to use their sense of smell to locate an object - usually a q-tip that has a small amount of essential oil on it. This gives dogs an opportunity to fully engage in the strongest sense they have, in a fun, mentally challenging mission. It is a great way to burn off energy as well as increase confidence as dogs learn to navigate obstacles, ignore distractions, and explore the world. Dogs of any age are welcome, and no previous training is required.

Helpful analogy for those "friendly" dogs!

If people acted like “friendly” dogs, we would instantly mark them as rude. A super friendly dog has good intentions but not necessarily good manners. A lot of dogs feel super uncomfortable if they’re being approached like this (rightly so!!) If you have a friendly dog, it doesn’t mean that other dogs want to hang out with your dog. Its nothing personal. Its just preference. Socialising doesn’t just mean do whatever you want.
