Solano Unity Network

Extreme weather can be dangerous for folks who live outside. Staying hydrated and out of the sun is a priority. When we see extreme weather coming we try to warn our friends to plan for the upcoming days. We also try to provide survival supplies. This can be anything from tarps and emergency blankets to charging banks. We keep us safe.

Open Meeting this SUNday!

This Sunday!

Next Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 6pm will be the next Open Meeting. We will be discussing our journey and accomplishments as well as the future of SUN. Take a look at our review.

We started this network following the uprisings of 2020. Some attach George Floyd and Breonna Taylor to that but for us Sean Monterrosa who was murdered by Vallejo PD, was the catalyst. As abolitionists we support the directly effected and their calls for justice. Vallejo PD created so many victims or “Justice Families” as we call them, they work together to seek justice. Since 2020 we have supported the calls to action from these Justice Families without hesitation.

Our recent post about not using AI was worded in a way that felt as if we regretted supporting the most recent call. This was the last thing we wanted portrayed and regret the wording deeply. Our work is and will always be abolition based. That starts with the real life in-person relationships in our community. Wanting to address the very real AI concerns lead us to harming our community.

While we have spoken to the family privately that doesn’t erase the harm and hurt created publicly. We sincerely apologize to the families we hurt. We want them to know that the social media presence we have and use as a tool to build community is secondary to the relationships we have in-person.

It was also pointed out to us that we don’t always make our presence known during events. We inadvertently made ourselves invisible to some of the families by not wanting to impose ourselves. We hear the concerns and want to do better. We hope our community can give us that grace.

Regarding our collab post with APTP:

We would like to address our followers’ valid concerns over the post we collaborated on with APTP. First we do not condone the use of AI for any reason, not even for making a flyer for a justice family member. While we understand that the intention does not excuse the harm, for transparency we feel the need to explain how our logo ended up on such a flyer, and to express our deep disappointment. A justice family member reached out to us asking us to be a sponsor on their flyer and we happily agreed without thinking it through too much. Considering supporting justice families aligns with our mission statement. Our collective has been going through changes recently and our social media support is lacking the capacity to thoroughly vet each post inquiry. We have decided to take a break from social media while we adjust, however we do plan to be back.

Come meet with us this Sunday August 2nd at 6pm. This will be a virtual meeting with the link available day of.
