What is the best bait to trap a raccoon?
Raccoons are scavengers, just like rats, which means there is very little the animal won’t eat if it’s hungry. This makes baiting your traps very easy; you could practically throw whatever you wanted in there. You must think of the consequences, however. Meat products will turn bad quickly and will attract flies and rodents. Cat or dog food could attract domestic cats or dogs to the trap. Fruits will also turn bad and attract insects, such as wasps and bees. Peanut butter is a good choice!
