The Growing Project

The Growing Project promotes an environmentally and socially just local food system through direct agricultural experiences, education, economic opportunities, and advocacy. We strive to serve as an agent of social change using the platform of food to empower and elevate collaborators in social justice in Fort Collins. Within the setting of our community gardens, The Growing Project specifically addresses food insecurity in Larimer County through co-creating community growing spaces that increase the supply of fresh local produce, educational programs that provide knowledge and skills in community-building, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, permaculture, and self-sufficiency; and advocacy efforts that promote community access to food grown locally. Currently, The Growing Project operates the FoCo Commons Garden which produces food that is returned to community through our variety of programs and partnerships, hosts community education, and welcomes the folk of Fort Collins to find peace in its sanctuary.
