We just wrapped a modern fireplace makeover in Whitestone, showing how one thoughtful change can transform an entire room. The clients wanted a brighter, sleeker feel, so we kept the existing firebox and rebuilt the surround with a contemporary white wood mantel, quartz finish, and custom built-ins that connect the fireplace to the rest of the space. We also added luxury vinyl plank flooring to warm the room without removing the existing subflooring.
