"Making life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs."
09/25/2026
Think your hands are clean? These common mistakes could be undoing all your hard work.
For people who use intermittent catheters, good hand hygiene is an essential part of reducing UTI risk.
Here are some easy-to-miss mistakes to avoid:
• Touching your face after washing your hands
• Using cleaning wipes instead of disinfecting wipes on high-touch surfaces
• Drying your hands with a used towel
• Forgetting to clean hand controls and assistive devices
• Skipping the cleaning of your phone during your cleaning routine
🧼 Remember: Soap and water remain one of the most effective ways to remove germs from your hands.

The Adventure of a Lifetime: Lessons from Cycling Across Europe After Ostomy Surgery, a new blog post by Axel Keller.
https://www.ostomy.org/the-adventure-of-a-lifetime-lessons-from-cycling-across-europe-after-ostomy-surgery/
"If this journey has taught me anything, it’s that an ostomy doesn’t have to make your world smaller. It may change the way you prepare, the things you pack, or the routines you build, but it doesn’t have to change your dreams. Six months ago, I was recovering from surgery. Today, I’m writing this from a campsite in Denmark." -with Coloplast

Meet Stefanie 🌟 Life threw her a curveball when she had surgery to remove her colon and she found herself navigating a completely new path. At first, she felt overwhelmed and lost, struggling to adjust to her ostomy system while dealing with leaks, skin irritation, and the bag falling off.
After trying several options, Stefanie connected with Coloplast and found what worked best for her: the SenSura® Mio Click two-piece system.
“I went from constantly worrying about the bag coming off or having an embarrassing leak to feeling confident and secure,” she says. “SenSura Mio lets me live life without fear. I swim, ride rollercoasters, and do all the things I used to do without worrying. The peace of mind it gives me is truly invaluable.”
Stefanie says living with chronic illness has completely changed the way she sees life, and she tries to celebrate the little things others can take for granted. Though she lost her colon, she gained new goals and dreams and has shifted her focus toward helping others by sharing her story and spreading awareness on social media—a meaningful win for her.

Sometimes the hardest part of managing bowel issues, like constipation or accidents, is knowing how to start the conversation with your healthcare provider. Talking about your bowel may feel uncomfortable at first, but starting the conversation sooner can help you find solutions that make everyday life more manageable.
A good first step is to have a clear picture of your current bowel habits and symptoms. The Coloplast Care Bowel Check can help you prepare for a productive discussion about bowel management options.
