Since 2008, KPA has been committed to animal rescue and our mission statement: Every Life Matters. The mission of saving some but not all was not our mission.

Kentucky Pets Alive is a volunteer based 501c(3) organization that was originally formed in August 2008 as Shelby County No Kill Mission of Kentucky, Inc. with the mission to save all adoptable animals at The Shelby County Animal Shelter , which was an open admission municipal shelter until July 2014. It’s Friday and our special needs rescues need your continued support. We have an opportunity again to obtain the much needed prescription food and litter at a discounted price! We raised $56 last Friday for this trip. trip will cost us $75 in gas and $300-$500 for food and litter.

Our small volunteer rescue has exhausted our own personal accounts trying to save the sick and injured that others won’t. Our volunteers work full time jobs outside of rescue and We do not have paid staff that can market and launch national fundraising campaigns. We are not supported by tax dollars or by the large national organizations. We fear defeat daily 🥲

Can you skip your coffee, breakfast sandwich or sweet today and make a donation to feed our special needs rescues who require prescription food? Having the opportunity for our volunteers to make the 4 hour round trip to get the prescription food and litter allows our rescue to say yes to special needs rescues. Please help make this trip possible.

Please be a life saver!

Allie was adopted as a kitten 4+ years ago. Her humans moved and couldn’t take her to where they were moving . 😞 She would prefer to be an only pet so she can have all the love and attention! She loves pets and is affectionate. She needs a home with humans who can be patient as it takes her a bit to get used to change. She has a lot of love to give in return and can be bribed with some wet food!😹😹. Allie is asking you to remember to vote today!

Nova came to us from a crowded shelter that euthanizes for space. She became critically ill and needed surgery for removal of her gallbladder and mummified kittens. She was in ICU for a bit after surgery, but thankfully she improved and is healthy now. Now she just needs a loving home. Nova is here to remind you to vote to help KPA!!
