✍️ We are so grateful for another deeply moving Writing Through Grief Workshop held at the end of summer, hosted in partnership with Agrace Hospice and held at Cress Funeral & Cremation Service.
Agrace Grief Services Manager Deanna co-facilitated alongside HeartLight staff Lauren and Clarissa, creating a warm, intimate setting where participants felt safe to share with vulnerability and honesty. We were especially moved by Agrace hospice nurse and griever Kristin, who offered beautiful words on how writing supported her through intense grief.
One of the most rewarding parts of the evening was seeing participants connect with additional grief support resources and sign up for further HeartLight programs to continue their healing journey.
Thank you to everyone who showed up so openly, and to our wonderful partners at Agrace and Cress for making this space possible! 💙

✍️ What an amazing turnout for our 2nd Writing Through Grief Workshop at Vista West!
In partnership with Jackie at Vista West and Cress Center, Clarissa and Lauren with HeartLight were honored to facilitate a wonderful group of 16 participants—bringing together new and returning faces from both the Vista West resident community and the folks in the greater Madison area.

Together, we shared grief stories, explored new writing prompts, and built deep, meaningful connections. It was a beautiful evening of holding space for one another— sparking new friendships, inspiring participants to keep writing, and listening as resident and writer John shared how writing has helped him navigate complex grief throughout his life.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared so openly!

We hope to see you at our next Writing Through Grief Workshop on November 19 @ 6-8pm!

You may have found us because you are anticipating a loss, have experienced a loss, or are supporting someone who is grieving. We are glad you are here and want to offer our help in finding the support that is most meaningful to you or the person you care about.

Information can be powerful, and having a basic understanding of what grief is and what happens when we grieve can normalize what can be an unfamiliar experience.

As we observe the 25th anniversary of September 11th, we reflect on the lasting impact of that day and the profound power of compassionate support in the journey of healing.

Cierra came across this resource in which a 9/11 widow shares her perspective on how community and support groups play a vital role after a tragic loss. We wanted to share and hope that it will bring comfort and perspective to anyone navigating loss.

If you have experienced the death of a loved one and are looking to take the next step in your healing journey, join us in this unique offering. Horses are non-judgmental beings who model and invite humans to become present and honest with our feelings, emotions, and thoughts. They are excellent communicators and listeners who respond to what they receive from us, making them great mirrors for our learning, growth, and healing.
This workshop is offered at a private ranch in Lyons, CO, on Saturday, September 26.
Register on Tru Community Care's Website: https://www.trucare.org/adult-grief-support-groups/
*No prior horse experience is needed. We will engage with the horses safely on the ground.

Grief impacts everyone differently, and understanding the logistics of how it affects our minds and bodies can be a powerful step toward healing.

We invite you to join us for an upcoming educational seminar designed to support you in better understanding your own experience of grief.

📌 Please note: This is an informational, lecture-style presentation rather than a traditional interactive support group.

There will be time for questions at the conclusion of the presentation, and participation is always entirely optional. If you or someone you know could benefit from this foundational grief education, please visit our website to register.
