Union County Emergency Management

Due to the SCDOT bridge replacement project on SC 49 (Cross Keys Hwy) at Fairforest Creek, Lockhart Power Company has been required to relocate their distribution power lines which serve all of our Cross Keys and Cross Anchor service areas. The final phase of the relocation project will require a power outage in order to move the service over to the new lines.

This outage is scheduled for Tuesday, 9-15-2026, at 10:00 PM and is expected to last approximately 4 hours. The crews will work diligently in order to restore power within the scheduled timeframe and to minimize any inconvenience to our customers.

🚧 FESTIVAL ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

Uniquely Union Festival weekend is almost here! 🎉 As we prepare to welcome everyone to Downtown Union, please be aware of upcoming road closures beginning Friday morning.

Main Street and portions of North Herndon Street will close beginning at 8:00 AM on Friday, September 11, to allow our team, vendors, cook teams and partners to safely prepare for the festival.

Roads will reopen and normal traffic will resume at 11:00 PM on Saturday, September 12.

Please take a moment to review the closure information below and plan accordingly if you live, work, shop or travel through Downtown Union.

Attention Union County Citizens:

For the upcoming weekend a heat wave will cross over Union County causing some well above normal temperatures.

🌡️ The heat is no joke! With temperatures reaching extreme levels, it's important to stay safe. Drink plenty of water, avoid prolonged time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, wear lightweight clothing, and check on elderly neighbors, children, and pets. Even a few minutes in a parked car can be dangerous.

Take the heat seriously and stay cool, stay hydrated, and look out for one another. ☀️💧

Union County experienced straight-line wind damage during the severe storm that moved through the county. Union County Emergency Management and emergency personnel are currently assessing damage throughout the county.

Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling and avoid downed power lines and damaged areas.
