Attention Union County Citizens:

For the upcoming weekend a heat wave will cross over Union County causing some well above normal temperatures.

🌡️ The heat is no joke! With temperatures reaching extreme levels, it's important to stay safe. Drink plenty of water, avoid prolonged time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, wear lightweight clothing, and check on elderly neighbors, children, and pets. Even a few minutes in a parked car can be dangerous.

Take the heat seriously and stay cool, stay hydrated, and look out for one another. ☀️💧

Union County experienced straight-line wind damage during the severe storm that moved through the county. Union County Emergency Management and emergency personnel are currently assessing damage throughout the county.

Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling and avoid downed power lines and damaged areas.
