ASCENSION DAY is Thursday, May 14, 2026.
The Ascension of Jesus signifies His bodily return to heaven, the completion of His earthly mission, and His exaltation as Lord, opening the way for believers to receive the Holy Spirit and eternal life.
WHAT THE ASCENSION IS -
The Ascension refers to the moment when Jesus Christ was taken up into heaven in the presence of His disciples, forty days after His resurrection (Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9-11). This was a literal, visible event, not merely symbolic, confirming that Jesus had truly conquered death and completed His earthly ministry. As He ascended, a cloud hid Him from sight, and angels promised His return in the same manner. (lightandgospel.com+3)

Our Young Adults Class at Grace Methodist Church had a great time at the Spartanburgers baseball game in Spartanburg on Sunday afternoon, April 26. Their class is an energetic and engaging group focused on learning about Jesus and how He relates to their lives. They enjoy extra time together with outings such as this, too. Brad Valentine and Fran Love lead this class but everyone participates. If you’re looking for something meaningful, consider joining them on Sunday mornings. They’ll be glad to see you!
