Friday Summer Safety Tip!

You may have heard the saying, “When everyone is watching, no one is really watching.” Swim instructors often use this reminder because it highlights a common safety mistake: when multiple adults assume someone else is paying attention, children can slip into danger unnoticed.

Real water safety means choosing one specific adult whose only job in that moment is to actively supervise - - - eyes on the water, not on phones, conversations, or distractions.

Having a designated “water watcher” prevents confusion, closes the gaps where accidents happen, and ensures that young children are truly being monitored every second they’re near a pool, lake, or any body of water.
