The 70273 Project
An international community of volunteers is telling the story of the 70,273 disabled people murdered by the N***s before WWII. Again, thank you.
We will commemorate these souls, and raise awareness until communities welcome disabled people and plan for their success. Thanks to countless compassionate people around the world, it took three years for our international network to make 70273 blocks to commemorate very person killed by the N***s in 1940. As a result, we are no longer accepting blocks or quilts. However we still need your assist

Happy Birthday, Jeanne.
Happy 10th Anniversary to The 70273 Project.
Ten years ago today, Jeanne launched this project on her birthday with a bold and heartbreaking vision: to commemorate the 70,273 disabled people murdered by the N***s during WWII — and to honor the lives and abilities of people with disabilities today.
Within just three years — again on her birthday — every one of the 70,273 blocks had been stitched and sent in by people from around the world.
What began as one woman’s “big, fat, crazy idea” became a global act of remembrance.
Today, as a board, we feel deep gratitude:
For Jeanne’s courage to begin.
For the thousands of hands who stitched.
For the stories entrusted to this project.
For the hundreds of exhibits that have educated and moved audiences across continents.
For the steady work that has brought us to nearly 700 completed quilts.
The final quilts are nearing completion — and their work in the world continues.
From exhibits to adoptions to meaningful conversations about inclusion, the impact grows.
Ten years strong — and we are still building.
A refreshed look is coming soon.
A new chapter is unfolding.
Founder Friday posts begin soon, when Jeanne will share stories from the journey that brought us here.
With gratitude and determination,
The Board of The 70273 Project
