This is our goal...

At 15, Kimberly Anyadike took off from Compton, California, and landed in Newport News, Virginia, becoming the youngest Black female pilot to complete a transcontinental U.S. flight.

Accompanied by safety pilot Levi Thornhill, a former Tuskegee Airman, she navigated a single-engine Cessna 172 across the country and back in just 13 days.

Throughout her journey, her plane was autographed by approximately 50 Tuskegee Airmen at stops nationwide, a tribute to the legacy she now carried.

Her surname, Anyadike, meaning “eye of the warrior,” reflects her family’s Nigerian heritage and her own fearless spirit. In 2015, the Tuskegee Airmen honored her with the inaugural Young Aviator’s Award, cementing her place in aviation history. - Africa Giant
