Empowering the voices of vulnerable and exploited youth to end s*x trafficking in our community.

06/19/2026

The data points to a rapidly growing online child safety crisis unfolding across multiple, interconnected factors.

Children are entering digital spaces at increasingly younger ages, some before age two, and engaging with social media before age minimums are consistently enforced. Many are also spending significant daily time on platforms where direct messaging features are frequently identified as key pathways for exploitation.

At the same time, reported cases of online child s*xual exploitation and abuse continue to rise dramatically. Global estimates reach into the hundreds of millions, with hundreds of thousands of enticement reports filed annually in the United States alone. In addition, s*xtortion victimization has increased by approximately 300% in just three years.

Together, these trends reflect a public health crisis that is escalating quickly and remains significantly under-addressed relative to its scale.

Don't Be a Marge

Misconception: "Social media isn't that dangerous."
Truth: Many traffickers use social media, gaming platforms, and messaging apps to build relationships, groom victims, and exploit vulnerabilities.

The danger isn't always the platform itself—it's the people who use it to gain trust, create secrecy, and manipulate young people over time. Conversations that seem harmless can gradually become something much more concerning.

That's why it's so important for parents, caregivers, and trusted adults to stay engaged, ask questions, and keep communication open with the kids in their lives.

Awareness isn't about fear—it's about preparation. The more we know, the better we can protect and empower our children.

Don't be a Marge... stay informed.

We're on a mission to help every child learn to ROAR!

This upcoming school year, we're working toward an ambitious goal: placing 10,000 HOPE Roars books in classrooms across Smith County.

HOPE Roars helps children understand that their voice matters, identify trusted adults, and build the confidence to speak up when something doesn't feel right. Prevention starts with empowering kids before a crisis occurs.

To make this vision a reality, we're looking for sponsors and community partners who want to invest in protecting and empowering the next generation.

How can you help?

Become a HOPE Roars sponsor and help us place these life-changing books into the hands of students throughout Smith County.

Interested in learning more? Reach out to Suzy at [email protected].
Together, we can help 10,000 children find their voice and learn to ROAR.

🎙️ Meet Aunt Marge!
You've heard us share statistics, warning signs, and prevention tips—but sometimes it's easy to believe things about human trafficking that simply aren't true.

That's where Aunt Marge comes in. 💙

In our new series, Don't Be a Marge, we'll tackle common misconceptions about human trafficking and exploitation, replacing myths with facts that help keep our communities informed and our children safer.

Today's misconception:
💭 "Human trafficking always involves kidnapping."
The Truth: Most trafficking victims know their trafficker. Traffickers often use grooming, manipulation, coercion, threats, or the exploitation of vulnerabilities rather than abduction.

Movies and headlines can shape our perceptions, but the reality is often much more complex—and much closer to home. Understanding the truth helps us recognize warning signs, have better conversations, and protect those who may be vulnerable.

So don't be a Marge... 😉 Stay informed.

We are on a 3-year mission.

Before the DM.

Before the grooming.

Before the predator.

Before the outcry.

Before the rescue.

Our goal is to reach every child in Smith County—because today, virtually every child is at risk.

We are equipping and deploying concerned community members through awareness campaigns, events, exhibits, and trainings.

And we are building strategic partnerships to reach as many youth as possible while maximizing community resources.

This is prevention.

This is protection.

This is HOPE in action.

Trends of demand are getting younger and younger.

The average age of entry into exploitation is often reported as just 12–14 years old.

— Department of Justice

This is why prevention cannot wait.

This is why awareness matters.

And this is why we must reach children before exploitation ever begins.
