Lunch today was and it was delicious. I had the Cobb salad and the homemade Ranch dressing was legit! ππΌππΌππΌ I highly recommend checking them out if you are in Bullard, TX. and I then checked out Solon Douglas. I love shopping there. The tagline says gifts for cool people, and they arenβt wrong. We started the day with yoga and soul care . I think I could start every day that way. I am beyond relaxed and ready to enjoy the rest of this rainy day off from work.

We have finally had a minute to catch our breath and explore our new town a bit. Today is a lovely 80 degrees and we are enjoying a nice afternoon at the 80 Acre Market in Gilmer, TX. Iβm so thankful for cooler weather.

I love working downtown! I stopped by a local coffee shop the other morning and had time to chat with the barista. She fixed me a new kind of coffee based on my new dietary needs and listened to my questions. We have several restaurants we regularly walk to for lunch and I love all of the downtown buildings. The change of scenery from being in a school building all day has been so welcome. In case I havenβt mentioned it lately, I love my new job. My co-workers are a dream and I love our mission. Check us out !

A fun time was had by all. Everyone was exhausted when they got home, but they were happy. All of the boys talked about their new friends and sweet teachers. No one cried at drop-off (including me!) Iβd say today was a win. Let's do it all again tomorrow!

This is the first year in twelve years that I will not be heading back into the classroom. Iβm not so stressed about the first day of school and making sure everything is perfect for other peopleβs children. Instead, I spent the evening making sure backpacks are 100% ready. I made lunches and snacks that actually have healthy things like fresh fruit (to be real, that will probably only last a few weeks at best π). My boys will each have a note in their bags. The older ones that can read have a blessing included for the school year. Huddy just gets a drawing to match the decor in his classroom, and a note he can read. π₯°. Am I sad I wonβt be on campus with the boys? Absolutely! Butβ¦ I am also really enjoying the stress free-ness of starting a school year. I get to play the support role and I like it. So, to fellow parents out there, if things arenβt perfect at the start of the school year, remember our teachers are often parents too. They are busy getting classrooms ready AND preparing for their own children to return to school. They are moving kids into college ALL WHILE learning 18+ kids names and personalities at once. They are prepping for numerous classes/subjects WHILE trying to re-adjust to the demands of standing for eight hours a day, scarfing down lunch in a 20 minute period, and holding it until another teacher can watch their class for two seconds so they can go to the restroom. Take it from meβ¦ as someone not returning to the classroom this year, teaching is hard and takes a tremendous amount of energy. This energy is spent in the classroom often leaving a teacher drained. For me, my kids were the ones that felt that drain the most. --- ππΌ Thank a teacher this week and remember to be gracious.

Janelee was probably one of the best babies I have had in the studio. She slept the entire time and did not stir at all. She let me move her from prop to prop and change positions without getting fussy one time. She was a dream. Her momma brought in these peaches from her nursery and we incorporated them into the session. She also brought in a baby blanket and rabbit made from Grandma's wedding gown. Both were beautiful. ββββββββ

I'm sad that this was my last newborn in my studio for a while, but I'm glad Janelee's session went so well. ββββββββ

On a side note, Jacob and I looked for a bowl like this forever. I mean FOREVER. Every time we went into a "treasure store," I asked if he remembered what we were looking for. Of course he did. We finally found this little bowl at a store here in LaGrange. I think it was worth the time we spent looking for it! ββββββββ
