Our goal since getting married has been to vacation a lot and enjoy life! In July 2020 we made that dream a reality and so the adventure began!
We decided that when my husband retired from law enforcement that we would get an RV and travel the U.S.

ðŸ˜Our trip has come to an end! We left on May 20th and we are in our last drive on Sept 24th (127 nights). This time we left our trailer at our daughter’s in Abilene, Tx. On this trip we pulled our trailer about 8400 miles and used about 1050 gallons of gas at $3,000 (doesn’t count the trips we took in our truck at each destination). Total miles on our truck was almost 12,000 miles!!! If you asked us to pick one favorite stop I would say Niagara Falls and John would say Preque Isle Race Track in Pennsylvania. But really these are our favorite memories and pics of this trip! We visited 4 national parks (Bryce, Zion, Yellowstone, Niagara Falls), 4 race tracks (3- PN, 1-WV), 3 MLB baseball parks (Cubs, Pirates, Braves), 3 rodeos (Filer, Id., Cody, Wy, Abilene, Tx), 5 waterfalls (Shoshone Falls, Id & Perrine Coulee Waterfall, Id & Mesa Falls, Id & Sioux Falls, SD & Niagara Falls, NY), 2 Fairs (Grange, In & Abilene, Tx), 2 beaches ( PCB, Fl,& Orange Beach, AL), 8 Lakes (Jackson Flat Reservoir, Ut & Lake Yellowstone, MT & Legion Lake, SD-Custer SP & Vermillion Lake, SD & Lake Winona, WI & Lake Minnehaha, IN & Lake Eerie, NY & Lake Koewee, SC), 2 Rivers (Delaware River, PN & Snake River, Id), and 2 trains (Black Hills RR & Chicago metro). We camped overnight in 17 states and drove through 23 different states. Whew! So many adventures! Sure is fun to look back and remember all our good times. We spent the most time in Georgia with our friends for a month. So grateful to everyone we crossed paths with and spent time with. You all are a blessing to us!

9/13-9/24 We had a great time at our daughter’s house in Abilene, Tx. Cassey and Jacob always have good activities and food! We went to the East Texas state fair and rodeo. We got to celebrate Jacob’s bday! 🥳 We looked at some lake property for a possible future vacation home. Jacob taught me how to s***t shoot. So fun! I connected my first try! (Shocked us all.) Our last day we planted flowers and 2 fruit trees as a family. Can’t wait to come back!

9/6-9/13/24- After the long 13 hour drive from Orange Beach, Al we made it to our next stop. We spent the last week with my mom & dad! Good food, & lots of card games. Some crafting (girls) and golf (boys). We put our Fiver in storage and stay at their house in Tyler, Tx. While we were here, lots of concern for friends and the fires approaching all our houses in California. I think we are almost in the clear now. Next stop is Abilene, Tx to our daughter’s house. We park on the side of their house and stay in their guest room. We are currently planning to leave our trailer there and just take the truck home.

9/3-9/6/24 We left Georgia for Orange Beach, Alabama. We stopped in Auburn, Al at Buc-ee’s so we could see what all the hype was about. We were disappointed there was no rv parking there at all. So we took up 10 or so car spaces. I thought there would be more food choices for lunch. They pretty much only had bbq sandwiches. John said they were good. I bought some peanut butter cookies that were really good. We had 3 nights at the Gulf Shores State Park right on the lake site 237. The sites there are roomy, and level, asphalt pads with great water pressure. The website showed the sites being in the $60 range/night. But after all their fees it was more like $80/night. It did give is free parking at any of the gulf or orange beaches which was nice. They had bike trails, a nature center, a restaurant, camp store, nice pool, and lots of fishing and boating amenities. The proximity to beaches and restaurants and shopping was nice. It rained pretty much the whole time we were there. We were pretty disappointed because we couldn’t go on our bikes and explore or really enjoy the beach. But it was a really nice area with lots to do. Next stop, Tyler, Texas! Here we come mom and dad!

Stayed a whole other week in Murietta, Georgia after Florida. We had some more yummy food and played cards every night. We were avoiding the labor day craziness. Plus, we love spending time with our friends! 🥰

After the wedding, we flew from Sacramento, Ca to Panama City, Florida. We rented a condo for a week with our best friends from Georgia right on the beach. We have such a great time enjoying the sun and sand (girls) as well as the good local food and card playing and the movies (boys)!

8/6 arrived in Marietta, Georgia. We are staying at our friend’s house. We went to a Braves baseball game! So fun! We have been enjoying great company, card playing and good food! On 8/16 we made a quick 28 hour plane trip to Sacramento, Ca to go to our son’s life-long best friend’s wedding. It was a whirlwind trip for sure, but glad we did it. Bonus, we got to spend some time with our kids too!!

8/4-6 Loooved our stop in Seneca, South Carolina. Our campsite was right beside Lake Koewee. I was so ready for sun and water time! The water was perfectly warm. We went for bike rides, and John bought duck food and fed the ducks. 🦆 I went swimming and laid out. It was the perfect summertime stop. We will be back!
More issues with our fiver continues: We noticed a piece of our awning missing. And as we were leaving this campground this morning our kitchen slide (this time the microwave side) wouldn’t come in on its own. We had to push it in. God dammmmm those schwintech slides!!!! I hate them with a passion!!!!! They are pieces of 🤬!!!!
