Friends and Fans of The Listening Lounge,

Over 20 years ago on Manhattan’s Upper West Side I first discovered a need for deliverance from self and God’s power to do just that!

Soon I discovered and began to savor long-forgotten, Gospel-drenched texts and arrangements that revealed a present power to move, encourage and edify real people with real needs and real hurts.

Since developing The Listening Lounge with my wife and creative partner of 25 years, Megan Magill, I’ve been looking for an opportunity to lead my Groove School of high school musicians/vocalists in a night filled with these songs.

Saturday April 26th’s Spirit Songs features an eclectic mix of tunes by artists such as The Staple Singers, Parker Milsap, Stevie Wonder, The Flying Stars of Brooklyn NY, Bakermat, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Billy Preston, Andrae Crouch, Jean Austin and Liz Vice.

Spirit Songs: A Celebration of Gospel Groove Music live at The Listening Lounge will be good for the soul!
