Different Strings Music Studio

I recorded the classical guitar at Robin Hood Studios. I then added a bunch of electric guitar tracks to it at my studio to create this fun little guitar-only clip of the song, Africa, by Toto.

I've never used the pattern editor/step sequencer before. I gave it a go using Impact XT in my PreSonus DAW along with my ATOM controller and recorded this little tune. It also features some acoustic instruments, including my Greek baglama.

“Don’t bore us, get to the chorus,” goes the songwriting adage. For fun, I plugged my BOSS CE-300 stereo chorus rack into two Roland JC amps, each with its own stereo chorus. Quadraphonic sound!

I feel like my bass playing has always been a weak spot when I'm making recordings. Fruitful trip to Half Price Books today. It’s hard for me to sit down and create, and I found a couple books that look like they’ll help, I hope. I so often get caught up experimenting and testing gear and getting different sounds, I never get around to writing actual songs! I was affectionately called “Inspector Gadget” in a former band by the bandleader because of all my gear goofery. I like to take good care of my gear, too, and this guitar and amp maintenance book looks like a good one, as well.
