He's a committed Christian, seen every week by his church.
He's also a Private Struggler, wrestling with homosexual attractions he never asked for, doesn't understand, and knows he shouldn't give in to.
So he looks for answers from his church. Too often, the answers aren't there.
But outside his church walls, voices are calling him, saying "You're Gay! Don't resist it! Jump out of your hateful church, and we'll catch you!"
He's ready to leap.
This Giving Tuesday, will you take a few minutes to view this video about how we can offer him a better safety
We're Holding Their Trampoline. Giving Tuesday 2025 Same-sex strugglers are giving up on the church. Why? It's as i the world is offering a trampoline for them to jump in to, out of the Church and into a Rain...

Why Are Same-Sex Strugglers Giving Up on the Church?
Too often, they're getting the wrong answers from the wrong sources. It's as though the world is offering a trampoline for them to jump into, out of the church and into a Rainbow Safety Net.
They're wrong to jump. But if they don't hear answers from the Church, they'll look elsewhere.
Please check out this brief video message on why they're jumping, and how we're trying to provide a better alternative. To view, click onto the first comment below.

What a perfect Throwback Thanksgiving Thursday to share this post with you! I first wrote this for my home girls at .church and it still rings true.
God’s view of the future is like rowing a boat. Your journey has you looking back, just as you move forward, and your past is inextricably linked to your future. So when God gives a promise about prospering your future, He already sees your story and it’s as good as done.
Take some time to look back and think of evidences of God’s good and gracious hand in your life, and remember that His past performance is a reliable indicator of His future one.

Throwback Thursday: "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Abide" That's a lesson I started learning 55 years ago, and wrote about 7 years ago. It's still vital. If we want to serve Christ, we have to Abide in Him. It won't work any other way. Click below to read further.
Fruitful in Famine • Joe Dallas When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Abide At the Last Supper Jesus knew He’d soon be leaving His disciples, and He wanted them to be ready. He described to them what life would be like after He left. He warned of hard times, then stressed, over and over, the importance of abiding in Him. […]

The two big hindrances that keep us stuck in our Christian life are a lack of prayer and a lack of obedience. Everything, big or small lands under these two things. We wonder why we lose battles, lose strength and want to blame God. But He’s been directing us all along to pray and obey. There we find direction and blessing. Let’s not let the grass grow on the path to our prayer closet!

It was such a pleasure talking with Lila Rose, who somehow got me to open up about the "good, bad, and ugly" aspects of my life more than I usually do. In light of the Supreme Court's current deliberations over "Conversion Therapy Bans" you might find this conversation to be timely. Please let me know what you think!

It Felt Like a Death Sentence.
I was 15, it was 1970, and “gay” still meant “happy.” I sat in the theater holding my girlfriend’s hand, along with a secret, while watching a movie about guys like me who weren’t keeping it secret.
"The Boys in the Band" was a breakthrough film about openly homosexual men gathered for a birthday party in New York City. It was high drama and dark comedy, ending with a monologue directed from one of its main characters to another:
“You’re a sad and pathetic man. You’re a homosexual and you don’t want to be, but there’s nothing you can do to change it. Not all the prayers to your God, not all the analysis you can buy in all the years you’ve got left to live. You may one day be able to know a heterosexual life if you want it desperately enough. But you’ll always be homosexual as well. Always Michael. Always. Until the day you die.”
I kissed my girl goodnight after walking her home. She’d been trying to make small talk, but the actor’s words felt like a death sentence pounding in my head. I couldn’t listen to her. I could only beg silently to the God I did not yet know:
“Please don’t let that be true. Please don’t let me live and die like this. Oh, please don’t.”
If you’d like to know how to disciple someone who’s praying that same prayer today, join me for an equipping seminar Saturday September 6th at Crossroads Community Church in Mission Viejo. For more details click below.
