As the pandemic continues, families are searching for safer ways to travel. One of these ways rising in popularity includes road trips via RV rentals. The RV Industry Association has estimated that within the next year, about 46 million Americans will take a trip by RV, resulting in a skyrocket in rentals and sales nationwide.
Dunkin' Donuts decided to hop on the bandwagon and is running a sweepstakes this month, giving their fans a chance to hit the road and “refresh” with a week in a decked out Dunkin’ RV. The RV itself features the newly released Dunkin’ Refreshers, and will act as a traveling billboard for the company.

As unemployment rates continue to rise during the pandemic, LinkedIn has observed a 55% increase in conversations among connections on their platform. The public health crisis has taken the U.S. economy by storm, causing a great amount of uncertainty among retailers. As many businesses implement practices to minimize human contact like curbside pickup and online ordering, ecommerce sales continue to grow in large numbers. This increase is also due to the addition of new users ages 65+ joining the online marketplace. Marketers now expect the U.S. ecommerce sales to grow to up to 60.4%, or $58.52 billion in 2020. Studies show that podcasts have grown to reach about 1 in 3 Americans, or 100 million Americans every month. Spotify specifically has seen podcast consumption grow triple-digits every year.
Many brands have used Spotify as a platform to advertise, in which the host recites a promo code or website URL during their episode. As most users listening to podcasts are multitasking (i.e. cooking, cleaning, working out), this ad format has often posed as a challenge for businesses to get results because it requires listeners to make a mental note of their ads to research later.
Spotify has created a visual in-app offer ad format, where consumers can come back to the podcast episode’s page to redeem the promotion. The click-through link will open the user’s browser and redirect to the brand’s landing page. This click-through action will also give companies more key insights on their ads, such as impressions reach, gender and device type. This feature is now live in Germany, and is set to roll out to the U.S. this summer. Check out the video from TechCrunch here:
