Know your rights ✊ HEERA is the Higher Education Employer-Employee Rights Act. HEERA is California State law and it governs labor relations, collective bargaining, and union representation for public higher education systems.

HEERA protects higher education employees' right to form, join, and participate in labor unions, and to bargain collectively over wages, hours and working conditions.

It also protects employees from illegal retaliation, discrimination or coercion. Your supervisor or unit director cannot question you about your engagement with union activities or prevent you from participating in union events or discriminate against you because you participate.

Nic started at Stan State nearly 20 years ago as a student. He's a proud Warrior Alumnus (BFA '12). As the Stan Prints Lead, he serves students by managing the print shop, overseeing everything from the production of professional business cards to flyers, large-scale posters and promotional materials to assisting departments with their printers.

It takes just 41 days to make Nic's entire annual salary, yet the CSU tells staff there is no funding for salary steps. Staff like Nic deserve regular, scheduled pay increases. There seems to be endless funding for executive pay at CSU, it's time for staff to get fair pay.

Allan works in the office at the University Health Center and supports students every day by providing administrative support and ensuring students have access to healthcare and wellness services. In just 28 working days, makes Allan's entire annual salary.

Workers like Allan deserve regular salary steps, so they can plan for their future. Before salary steps, CSU employees would stagnate, sometimes not seeing raises for years. With fully funded steps, CSU employees would finally see their value and service reflected in their pay.

Do better, at CSU and . Employees create the culture for students. It's time to fairly compensate workers.

30 YEARS vs. 60 DAYS. Let that sink in. 🤯⏱️

Meet April. She works in Safety and Risk and has dedicated 30 years of her life to .

But it takes the University President just 60 days to make April’s entire annual salary.

Whether you’re new to campus or here for a whole career, union-represented staff are vastly outpaced by executive salaries.

CSU claims they don't have the money to fund our salary steps, but the President's cabinet takes home $2.8 million a year and are adding executive positions while threatening layoffs and making cuts across campus.

It’s not a budget issue. It’s a priority issue.

Devon works in Marketing and Communications. In just 10 days, our university president makes her entire annual income. 💸

Let that sink in.

While the administration constantly talks about leading with “Cariño” (care) and warns us about a campus "budget deficit," top executive salaries are completely outpacing the workers who keep this university running.

Devon is a student balancing classes and a job, yet as a Student Assistant, she doesn’t even get basic benefits like paid sick leave. If she gets sick, she has to choose between her health and her paycheck.

This isn't just about Devon. It's about how our university values students and staff. Right now, Student Assistants are fighting back and negotiating for a fair contract. Real cariño isn't a buzzword. It’s a livable wage and a fair contract. ✊🔥

How many days does it take the president to make your annual salary?
