Some gave all.

Today, we pause to remember the service members who laid down their lives for this country and the families who carried that sacrifice long after the flag was folded.

Memorial Day is not only about remembrance, but about gratitude for the freedoms we live with every day because others were willing to give everything for them.

May we never forget their courage, their sacrifice, and the legacy they left behind. 🇺🇸

One more scholarship to close out the school year.

Tonight, TAPO President Greg Roton had the privilege of presenting a scholarship to Hughson High senior Paige Watson.

As the daughter of Turlock Police Sergeant Jason Watson, Paige has grown up around a family deeply connected to service, dedication, and community. But more importantly, she has become an impressive young woman in her own right, and we could not be more proud of her and all she has accomplished.

Paige has a bright future ahead of her, and we are excited to see all that she will achieve in the years to come.

Congratulations, Paige!

Tonight, TAPO President Greg Roton had the honor of presenting the Randy McNeff Memorial Scholarship to Turlock High School senior, Marie Silveira-Montes.

Established in memory of Randy McNeff, the son of retired Turlock Police Detective Ed McNeff, this scholarship was created to support local students pursuing careers in law enforcement and to continue honoring a legacy that remains meaningful to our department and community.

Marie’s dedication, character, and commitment to her future made her a deserving recipient of this year’s scholarship.

Congratulations, Marie! We are proud to support you as you begin this next chapter.

Tonight, TAPO President Greg Roton had the honor of presenting the Turlock Associated Police Officers Darrell Harden Memorial Scholarship to Pitman High senior, Christian Holeman.

This scholarship carries the legacy of Officer Darrell Harden, who served the Turlock community for 17 years across Patrol, Traffic, and Investigations. In 2000, he lost his battle with cancer, but his impact continues to be felt through the people he mentored, the work he did, and the legacy his name represents.

Each year, TAPO awards this scholarship to students who reflect hard work, character, and commitment to their future. Christian represents exactly that.

Congratulations, Christian! We’re proud to support what comes next for you and to continue honoring a legacy that still means so much to this department and community.

This week, we’re also recognizing our amazing Animal Services team.

They take on the calls most people don’t see and a lot wouldn’t want to. Neglect, abuse, injured animals, tough environments, and tough conversations. And they show up anyway.

This job isn’t just about animal care. It’s about people, emotions, and situations that don’t always have easy outcomes. It takes patience, resilience, and a level of compassion that doesn’t get talked about enough.

They do the work. They carry it with them. And they come back and do it again.

We see it. We respect it.

To our Animal Services team, thank you for what you handle every day and the way you continue to show up for this community.

This week we’re recognizing our dispatchers for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. The voices behind the radio, the calm in the chaos, and the ones keeping everything and everyone moving and safe.

They’re the reason officers get where they need to go. The reason scenes stay organized. The reason information gets where it needs to be, fast.

Firm on the radio. Unshakable under pressure. Always ten steps ahead. We couldn’t do this job without them.

To our dispatchers, thank you for everything you do, day in and day out.
