What a year. So much happened in 2024. Some good, some bad. But the most profound thing of all was losing my sweet Daisy in mid November, which is why I have been taking a bit of a break from here.

Anyone who knew me well knew this dog was the light of my life. She was my absolute favorite photography muse and adventure buddy. She was a huge part of why I got into photography, and she was my very favorite little art buddy, so her presence on the page was well known to those who have been following along for any amount of time.

Unfortunately, her huge heart was giving up due to many heart conditions at 14 years old. I made the incredibly difficult decision to let her go over the rainbow bridge instead of trying to force her to take more meds at the expense of her other organs and already weak little body.

While I miss her more than words can ever describe, I'm at peace knowing she is no longer suffering. Her absence is so obvious and there's definitely days I still break down, but life has been moving onward in more positive ways.

To help my depressed doxie, Polly, get through this loss with me, I got her a doxie puppy friend, Piper. Piper has been a huge help in getting Polly to move forward too. And boy does she keep me on my toes. But definitely some cute photos to come soon!

I finally finished processing the adorable photos I took from the Calaveras Humane Society Holiday Pet Pawtrait event! All proceeds went to CHS, and it felt really good to donate my time for this amazing organization! Definitely think of them on Giving Tuesday, they deserve so much support! ♥️

Sorry I have been quiet for a bit, have had a lot going on the last few months but hoping to get back into the swing of things!

I went to Costa Rica a few weeks ago with my boyfriend's family (paid for by my wonderful in-laws, thank you ❤️) and got some amazing photos! Going to Costa Rica has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, and it did not disappoint!

This is a Helmeted Basilisk, or helmeted iguana, whichever term you prefer. They are technically an iguana, but very much look like a basilisk. This guy posed for quite some time and was absolutely fascinating to look at!
