The Route 2 bus stop at Monte Vista & Walnut ( #140) will be closed due to construction activity for an estimated 3-4 weeks. Service will resume as soon as the stop is accessible. Riders can use the stops at Monte Vista & Crowell ( #221) or Monte Vista & Summer Creek ( #141) as an alternative.

Take your time and watch your step! When exiting the bus, there’s no need to rush. Use the handrail when available, watch your step, and make sure you’re steady before continuing on your way. A few extra seconds can help prevent a slip, or fall. Your safety comes first!

The Route 5 bus stop at Lander & Montana (190) has been moved to the other side of Montana, keeping access to transit, adding seating and improving visibility for vehicles.

Once the bus leaves or passes the stop before yours, pull the yellow cord to let your driver know you’d like to exit at the next stop.

Please give your driver enough notice to stop safely and pull the cord only when you need to exit. Using the stop-request cord at the right time helps keep the ride safe and on schedule for everyone!

Linda Wilson hasn’t been able to drive since breaking her arm on Easter.

Still the Ceres retiree has been able to make it to all of her medical appointments and social calls with ease. But she’s not taking a bus, taxi,ride share or even relying on friends for her door-to-door service.

Instead, she uses Care Cruisers, a free publicly-funded transportation program offered to all Stanislaus County residents aged 50 and up, plus people with disabilities or mobility issues.

“I like this better than the bus, or a taxi,” Wilson said, “it’s better, free and I get to meet new people, see places around the area I haven’t before.”

The door-to-door service is provided free to county residents who qualify, thanks to Measure L, a half-percent sales tax increase passed by Stanislaus County voters a decade ago.
