Máximo Francisco Durán Martel passed away on September 11, 2026 in Livingston, CA. He was born and raised in Mexico. He married his beloved wife, Urbana Velo de Durán, on November 4, 1970. Máximo loved to play music.

He is survived by his wife, Urbana; and his children, Claudia, Alberto, Ricardo, and Jorge.

Please join the family for a visitation on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, with a rosary starting at 6:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus in Livingston, CA. Following the mass, Máximo will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.

Sharon Paulson passed away in Modesto, CA on August 21, 2026 at the age of 76.

Sharon was born in Turlock, CA on April 28, 1950 to Earl and Arbutus Paulson. She was raised in Turlock, attended schools in the area, and graduated from Turlock High School. Sharon lived some of her adult life in Fresno, CA and Reno, NV before settling back in California’s central valley.

Sharon worked as an accounting clerk, first for Vangas in Fresno, CA starting in January 1970. Vangas was purchased by Suburban Propane, and she continued to work there for 25 years. She moved to Reno, NV and worked for United Pacific Energy from October 1998 until her retirement as a dispatcher for over 20 years.

She loved jewelry, always finding joy in pieces that reflected her bright personality. She enjoyed watching and going to the movies. Sharon never missed a chance to experience a great story on the big screen. She also cherished the simple joy of good food and great company, and loved dining out at her favorite restaurants. Sharon loved her friends and family deeply, so she always remembered to send them birthday wishes throughout the year.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Earl Paulson; and her mother, Arbutus Paulson. Sharon was an only child. She had many cousins who she cherished keeping in communication with over the years.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Turlock Memorial Park.

Lonald Dale Lott (1951–2026) passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Lonald, the oldest of three boys, was born in Patterson, California, to Bill and Lorene Lott. A graduate of Denair High School, Lonald dedicated much of his life to serving others. After graduation, he served in the United States Coast Guard and later in the Army Reserves. He began his career with the Hayward Police Department, followed by the Modesto Police Department, before joining the Turlock Police Department. There, he rose through the ranks and dedicated over 30 years to a career in law enforcement, ultimately serving as Chief of Police.

Lonald was a lifelong learner. Earning his undergraduate degree from California State University, Stanislaus, where he later taught, and went on to earn his master's degree from the University of San Francisco. He was also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Class 177.

Beyond his career, Lonald believed deeply in the importance of service and community. He served for many years in the American Legion, including as Commander, and was also a devoted member and Head Elder of his church. Public service was more than a career to Lonald—it was something he lived. Lonald loved Our Lord and remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. He carried that faith into his relationships, his work, and the way he treated people.

Jose Moreno Ramos, aged 89, entered into heavenly rest on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Jose was born on June 15, 1937, in Coalcomán, Michoacán, Mexico. He was raised in Coalcomán, where he was well known, highly respected, and had already established a successful and prosperous life. In the early 1950s, Jose made the courageous decision to leave Mexico and travel to Stanislaus County, California, on his own, seeking new opportunities and the chance to build an even greater future.

Through hard work, determination, and perseverance, Jose continued to build a successful life in the United States. In his early years, he became a prominent farming contractor, employing more than 100 workers and working closely with local farmers. His success in agriculture reflected the same dedication and entrepreneurial spirit he had carried with him from Mexico. Farming remained a lifelong passion and an important part of who he was.

In 1967, Jose married Maria Alvarado. Throughout the years, they remained close friends and continued to share a special bond and deep care for one another.

Jose cherished spending time with his family and friends. He was a devout Christian whose faith was an important part of his life, and he loved attending church. He was also deeply passionate about farming, especially growing organic fruits and vegetables. He took great pride in the land and in sharing the fruits of his labor with those around him.

Cain Maldonado Jr.

September 19, 1986 – September 10, 2026

Cain Maldonado Jr. passed away at home on September 10, 2026 at the age of 39. Cain was a beloved son, brother, partner, stepfather, and friend.

Cain was born in Turlock, CA on September 19, 1986 to Rose Marie Melgoza and Arcadio Maldonado. He grew up in Delhi, CA and graduated from Atwater High School. He remained a resident of Turlock, CA for several years. Cain worked with UPS for 12 years, up until his passing. Known for his hardworking nature, he would also work side jobs with his dad in construction. When he was not working, Cain enjoyed going to electric music parties and traveling. He loved going to baseball games with friends and family. Every day, you could find Cain walking his beloved pet, Otis.

Cain leaves behind many family members and friends who miss him deeply.

Cain is survived by his mother, Rose Marie Melgoza; his father, Arcadio Maldonado; his step-mother, Maria Elena Maldonado; his brothers, Jorge A. Maldonado and Fabian Maldonado; his sister, Yvonne Maldonado; his niece, Lisette A. Maria H. Garcia passed away on September 9, 2026 in Turlock, CA. Maria was born in Sheffield, Texas on June 11, 1932. She was a line worker for several years for Banquet Foods. Maria retired in 1990. She loved camping, ceramics, bowling, playing cards, and going to the casino.

Maria was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Ruiz; and her sons, Andrew Onate and Phillip Gary Onate. She leaves behind her husband, Enrique Garcia; her children, John Onate, Toby Onate, Judy Gutierrez, Gilbert Onate, and JoAnn Ruezga. She was a loving grandmother to 107 grandchildren across five generations.

Joya passed away peacefully at home with his three loving children at his side on Friday, September 11, 2026. He was preceded in death by his late beloved wife, Janet Mirza. Joya leaves behind his children, Monika & Rodney Faridi, Maykel & Larsa Mirza, and Madlen & Robert Gonsalves.

Johnny Rivas entered into heavenly rest on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. He was 67 years old.

Johnny was born on March 1, 1959 in Modesto, CA to Juan and Josefina Rivas. He married his beloved wife, Maria Estela Rivas, on March 24, 1979 in Reno, NV. He completed his GED and worked as an automotive detailer up until his passing. Johnny loved watching Niner games, helping people, reaching out to people, and working on multiple projects to stay busy. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, CA.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Josefina Rivas; his father, Juan Rivas; his siblings, Manuel Chavarin, Lupe Jimenez, Blanca Arroyo, and Crucita Perea.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Maria Rivas; his children, Serena Felix, Stephanie Perez, Regina Rivas; his siblings, Josephine Rodriguez and Jose Luis Ruesga. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alyssa, Jaselle, Aatiana, Mia, Elwood, Waylon, and Benicio.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, followed by a recitation of the rosary at 6:00 p.m.
