Deepest heartfelt thank you to Turlock Journal and Joe Cortez for this wonderful article about the CFA_Stanislaus -funded , , , etc., at Stanislaus State!! Our students are brilliant, driven, generous, persistent, and deserve all of the resources available to ensure their educational and life success and happiness! StanState students BELONG in college, are WORTHY of a classic liberal arts education, and DESERVE access to the things they need to thrive! The Stan State members of the California Faculty Association know this, and try to make sure students get what they need! If anybody ever wants the history of how this came to be, let me know and I’ll be happy to tell you. In the meantime, particularly special shout out go to Tamara Sniezek for writing a food pantry proposal every year for nearly a decade until we finally got it and the fabulous sociology major Nathaniel Romo for literally starting the first out of the back of his SUV in lot 5, and Steven Filling is the guy who got this whole thing formalized by refusing to give up and he is THE reason all of this is institutionalized!

Campus Cares keeps Stan State students warm and fed Stanislaus State students who might be struggling to make ends meet can get a helping hand thanks to the California Faculty Association Campus Cares Funds.

The Turlock Journal did a front page story on the Stan State CFA chapter’s preparation and serving of a meal to men staying at the We Care homeless shelter. We will do this again later in the month, so please join us if you are able.

Happy ! Special thanks to CFA members John Sarraillé, Bret Carrol, Dana Reneau, Ann Strahm, and Stanislaus Chapter of California Faculty Association President Dave Colnic for spending their Labor Day weekend in activism bringing awareness to the issues that face all working people. Linwood overpass at Highway 99 was a joyous party.

Tonight, executive board members of CFA, Stanislaus donated food and cooked & served a wonderful meal for the men staying at the We Care shelter. We will do this once a month for the remainder of the semester, so please join us. The cause is important, the camaraderie Is wonderful, and the thanks from those receiving this gift is genuine.
