That’s right! One of the absolutely all-time great Portuguese-American Conjuntos is BACK!

Formed in 1996 by an incredibly talented group of musicians and lifelong friends whose families made California home, CAIXA exploded onto the festa scene throughout the late 90’s and early 2000’s. With packed dance floors, unforgettable performances, and nonstop energy up and down the state, they earned the legendary nickname:⚡ “Party Central” ⚡

Known for their unmatched musicianship and signature fusion of Portuguese music, Latin grooves, funk, and hip hop influences, CAIXA created a sound unlike anything else on the festa circuit. Horns blaring. Drums pounding. Pure energy from start to finish.

And now… after a LONG time away from the stage… they’re finally back for seconds.

HOW IT WORKS:

🥪 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

✅ Each contestant must submit three (3) of the same bifanas for official judging
✅ Every bifana must include bread + pork (marinated or unmarinated)
✅ Pork may be marinated overnight prior to the event
✅ Extra ingredients, sauces, and creative prep styles are encouraged — bring your BEST bifana
🎨 Contestants must provide their own turn-in platter that fits all 3 bifanas
👉 Presentation matters! Decorate your platter for presentation scores

🎟️ PUBLIC SAMPLING & PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD:

- To participate in People’s Choice, each contestant must bring a minimum of 250 paposecos
- Samples are ¼ of a full bifana
- Required for public tasting eligibility
- Contestants may sell: • Additional tasting samples
(Sales end time: TBD)

🏆 PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD:

- Every guest receives ONE People’s Choice ticket
- Guests drop it at their favorite vendor’s booth
- Bring a jar or zip-lock bag for these tickets
- Event staff will count all tickets
- Most tickets wins People’s Choice! 👑

🎫 SAMPLING TICKETS (READ CAREFULLY!):

- Guests purchase sampling tickets upon entry
- $3 per ticket or 10 tickets for $30
- 1 ticket = 1 tasting sample (¼ bifana)
- Contestant payout: • Each ticket is worth $2 to the contestant when used to purchase a sample
• Bring a jar or zip-lock bag to collect tickets
• Tickets will be counted in front of you
• You’ll be paid in cash on the spot!! 💰💰💰
