citychurchtulsa.com/watch - In Part 4 of our Kingdom Culture series, Pastor Bodie walked us through what it means to live from a secure identity in Christ. Using the image of a dog that spent so long in a cage it kept running in circles even after the door was opened, he reminded us that freedom is already ours, but the memory of the cage is real. Three forces constantly pull us back toward old identities: the world, our own minds, and the enemy. All three traffic in the same lie, that we are defined by what we do, what we’ve failed at, or what others say. The gospel tells a different story. We are not a repaired version of our old selves. We are a new creation. The cage door is open.

In Part 3 of our Kingdom Culture series, Pastor Rachel walked us through Acts 2 and the story of Pentecost. The coming of the Holy Spirit was not a random moment. It was the climactic fulfillment of a thread woven throughout the entire biblical story, from the spirit hovering over creation to the fire in the wilderness to the torn veil of the temple. Holy Spirit comes to baptize, to empower, and to tabernacle within us. We are not a people waiting for God to show up. We are the place where heaven meets earth.

In Part 2 of our Kingdom Culture series, Pastor Jim Moss walked us through 1 Corinthians 15 and the gospel that grounds everything we build on. The gospel is not a feeling, a philosophy, or a self-help framework. It is an event that actually happened, witnessed by hundreds of real people. We don’t move past the gospel into something deeper. We anchor ourselves in it, especially when life and success or failure try to redefine us. Paul went from persecutor to apostle, and that same resurrection power is still at work today.

In Part 1 of our Kingdom Culture series, Pastor Rachel walked us through the Lord’s Prayer and what it means to truly pray “your kingdom come.” This familiar prayer is far more than words we recite. It is an invitation to pray for God’s rule over our own, to bring heaven’s reality into specific earthly situations, and to become participants rather than spectators. Intercessory prayer is not meant to keep us at a distance from the brokenness around us. It draws us in. Our prayers were never meant to stay words. They were meant to become flesh and bone and movement and action.
