The hallway was the place to be at Tulsa Educare Celia Clinton! Families grabbed their little learners and set off on a Hallway Happenings adventure to explore three important Pyramid Model expectations:

At each interactive station, families discovered what kindness, safety, and respect look like in everyday moments. And because every adventure should end with a little something special… each child got a book to take home! 📖

We love teaming up with families to build social-emotional skills that children can use everywhere—from the classroom to the kitchen table and everywhere in between. When home and school share expectations and language, little learners get a big boost! 🌱✨

Tulsa Educare’s Early Head Start Policy Council elections for parent representatives are beginning! We’ve been blown away by the level of interest this year! 👏 Kudos to all of the courageous parents who stepped up to run.

Policy Council brings together parents and community members to help provide direction and make important decisions about our Early Head Start program. When parents speak up, families’ experiences, needs, and perspectives have a seat at the table.

And speaking of making your voice heard… 🗳️ Yesterday was National Voter Registration Day!

❤️ Head Start Parent Voices Matter!
The federal government is considering changes to the Head Start Program Performance Standards that could impact programs and families across the country.
Head Start families—past and present—have an important opportunity to make their voices heard. Families can voluntarily sign NHSA’s National Parent Sign-On Letter by September 30, 2026, calling for the government to maintain strong standards that protect the quality, services, and strengths of Head Start.

Head Start parents and caregivers know firsthand what makes this program work for children and families.

Right now, the federal government is considering changes to the Head Start Program Performance Standards through a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). An NPRM is part of the federal rulemaking process and gives the public an opportunity to weigh in before proposed changes become final.

These changes could affect health and other essential services, staff-to-child ratios, disability supports, eligibility, how children build English proficiency and opportunities for parents to lead.

From September 15 through October 15, we celebrate the rich traditions, vibrant voices, and countless contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities that have shaped the world in countless positive ways.

This month—and every month—Tulsa Educare creates everyday learning opportunities for children to explore the cultures, traditions, and experiences represented within our diverse community. From music, language, and art to literature, food, and family traditions—there’s so much to learn, share, and celebrate! ❤️

Here are a few ways to celebrate as a family:
📚 Read books by Hispanic and Latino authors or featuring Hispanic and Latino characters.
🍽️ Cook a favorite family recipe or try a traditional Hispanic or Latino dish.
🎶 Listen and dance to music from Hispanic and Latino cultures.
🗣️ Share family stories, traditions, and memories with your children.
🎨 Explore the art, history, and cultural traditions of different Hispanic and Latino communities.
🏛️ Visit a local cultural celebration, museum, or community event.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to celebrate and learn together! ❤️

📚 Happy National Read a Book Day! ❤️
A few days late, but worth the wait! Tulsa Educare Hawthorne celebrated National Read a Book Day by inviting parents to come and read with their children. Staff joined in on the fun, too!

We may have celebrated a little late since September 6 fell on the weekend, but there’s nothing quite like the magic of sharing a book with a child. From discovering new places to meeting new characters, reading together creates opportunities to learn and connect. Every day is a great day to snuggle up with your child and a favorite book!🥰📖
