Events held each year in honor of Jared Shoemaker, US Marine Corporal and Tulsa Police Officer, who was killed in action in Iraq on September 4, 2006. A Tulsa Police Officer wanted to do something to honor the name and sacrifice of Jared Shoemaker while doing something that would also benefit a worthy cause in his name. He came up with the idea of a “road march”, spoke with some fellow Officers about his idea, and the Jared Shoemaker Memorial Walk was born. The purpose of the events is to honor Jared Shoemaker and to raise funds in his name to be presented to a charity. You may donate in his name, purchase a Jared Shoemaker Memorial Walk shirt and spread the word by linking our page to your social networking pages. I own a business-How can I help the cause? These events need all kinds of support and the organizers could use some help spreading the word and generating donations. A business might consider sponsoring by donating water, food items, printing, advertising, t-shirts, or anything within their area of expertise or creative thinking. Sponsors will be recognized on the website. Send us a message here at Facebook
