My little dude and I checked out the Route 66 Historical Village at 3770 Southwest Blvd. in Tulsa. We are SO excited about the Routeās Centennial and getting as many passport stamps as we can!šš
The Route 66 Historical Village is one of those spots that instantly makes you feel nostalgic. From the massive oil derrick towering over Southwest Boulevard to the vintage train cars, restored steam engine, and old-school Phillips 66-style station, this place perfectly captures Tulsaās deep roots in oil, railroads, and the Mother Road. Plus, we got to see the new āWelcome to Tulsaā sign up close.
Itās FREE to explore, packed with photo ops, and honestly feels like stepping back in time. Whether youāre a Route 66 enthusiast or just looking for a unique Tulsa stop, this hidden gem is worth the visit.

A guest Route 66 Chic š„ joined the mix today! My gal pal joined me at Parsia Mediterranean Grill at 2615 E. 11th st, and let me tell you, it is a must stop along Route 66! Tulsa Places has been exploring restaurants along the Mother Road š in celebration of its Centennial! š
Parsia is what one might call a hole-in-the-wall ⦠the BEST kind of culinary discoveries š“āØ
Check out the colorful, fresh grilled veggies on Bethās Veg Plate šš„ My shawarma sandwich was absolutely humongous ā and the meat was so tender and delicious. It was enough for two meals ā no joke. They even brought us some chicken to sample, and honestly⦠phenomenal. š¤¤
Tulsa needs more Mediterranean food like this! So happy we discovered Parsia, and weāll definitely be back. ā¤ļø

Weāre back for our FOURTH stop along Route 66! šāØ
In case you missed it, weāre hitting a different restaurant along the Mother Road each month in 2026 to celebrate the Centennialāaka your favorite gal pal duo is officially the Route 66 Chics.
This time, we made our way to Sapulpaās oldest restaurant, Happy Burgerāand it did not disappoint. Honestly, it feels like this place hasnāt changed much since it opened in 1957⦠in the best way possible. š
Think classic burger joint vibes with all the fried favorites: juicy burgers, chicken fried steak sandwiches, hand-cut fries, tots, plus malts, shakes and those iconic specialty limeades.
The food? So good. Bernie, of course, chose to daintily dig right in to the burger (major throwback to our Burger Babes era of 2023 š). The toy truck and car decor totally leans into that nostalgic Mother Road charm, and yes⦠itās an official stop in the yellow Route 66 Passportāso you KNOW I got that stamp. Woot woot!
If youāre looking for a true Route 66 experience, this classic spot is a must.
