So breaking news… “The Wall” didn’t work.
Republicans repeat the same talking points and point to inflated numbers to justify inhumane treatment of “migrants” traveling across the border. Let’s tell the truth, and republicans seem to want to come to the table and complain not compromise.
We are dealing with people who are desperately in need of a system that addresses today’s concerns around immigration in a humane, equitable, and efficient manner. Which in this country will take people from both sides of the aisle. Not policy for concerns from more than 35 years ago, which no lie, is the system we have now.

Today’s the first day of and this is the scene outside of the Naval observatory in Washington, D.C. where Kamala Harris and her husband live.
Governor sent 2 bus loads of 75-100 migrants to the residence in response to her calling the border “secure” in an interview on .
Just Wednesday Governor sent TWO planes of migrant people to Martha’s Vineyard.
Both governors took absolute joy in accepting responsibility for this gross political maneuvering akin only to human trafficking.
My question is where is the humanity, the compassion, the empathy for these lives which are so callously used for political posturing. Two of the people on Governor Abbott’s buses had to be hospitalized- one for diabetic complications, the other for pregnancy related issues.
We have weighty decisions in the future to make over border security and immigration. All of the decisions deserve our respect, our earnest consideration and compassion as they deal with actual human lives. We need to do better. To all my Hispanic-American friends, I’m sorry. I’m sorry this the news of the day.

Queen Elizabeth II reigned during a great time of world transformation.
Her time on the throne spanned 14 American Presidents, 15 British Prime Ministers and multiple conflicts throughout the world.
While Britain’s role in colonialism remains both troubling and problematic, Queen Elizabeth’s time as Head of State was one of great moments for independence and self-determination.
As a Jamaican, whose grandmother lived most of her adult life in the United Kingdom, I am sadden by her majesty’s passing. And I send my thoughts and prayers to the people of Great Britain and the Commonwealth.
The border isn’t open. People aren’t streaming into our country. We aren’t under siege.
What IS happening is gridlock over immigration reform! Why aren’t our representatives coming to the table and working across the aisle to create a pathway to citizenship for the millions of people who are in the shadows in this country because of their illegal status?
Why aren’t we working to help people not have to negotiate staying based on expired visas which are easily renewable?
Why aren’t wereforming an immigration policy that’s older than I am??!! 😡
