House of Oedipus: After the deaths of their warring brothers, Polynikes and Eteokles, Antigone and Ismene are the only remaining members of the House of Oedipus. All they know is death on death on death. Antigone has always had one foot in the grave, but Ismene longs for something happy, something to live for. Even so, the gods are not known for their kindness.

House of Kreon: Kreon, the new king of Thebes, believes he knows exactly how to get his city back on track. Thebes Before All—that is his creed. But his wife, Eurydice, and son, Haemon, worry his temper will get the better of him this time. They fear he may do something he regrets. After all, the gods have their own judgment. And their own punishment.

The Thebans: Citizen, Soldier, and Advisor have been suffering for some time. They have always been hungry. Thebes, their beloved city, has been plagued by war, famine, and careless kings since the beginning. All they want is to survive, but Thebes does not make it easy.
