We have an official reopening date! Gilcrease Museum just announced a March 2027 reopening, following a five-year, $140.9 million rebuild.
This world-class art and history collection will soon be open to the public again in Tulsa’s Osage Hills.
This new chapter pulls everything into one destination: the museum, the Helmerich Center for American Research, the historic Gilcrease House, and the landscape that wraps around it.
Inside, a 300,000 item collection from across the Americas will bring Indigenous, American, and Latin American stories into closer conversation. Outside, you’ll be able to turn a gallery visit into a walk, hike, or bike ride across 460 acres and 14 miles of trails.
More details on opening weekend, exhibitions and visitor experiences will roll out over the coming month.
In the meantime, memberships are open for anyone who wants updates, early access, and a front row seat to Gilcrease’s comeback. Visit gilcrease.org.

A new federal grant is funding exterior repairs across ten historic Black Wall Street buildings in Greenwood.
Greenwood Chamber of Commerce secured a $650,000 National Park Service grant that will cover new windows and doors and replace cracked bricks, tiles, and exterior walls so the structures stay sound and safe for the businesses inside. It’s one step in a longer process to care for buildings that have carried Greenwood’s story for decades, with construction scheduled to start this month and wrap in under a year.

Another year, another USA TODAY Best Oktoberfest win for Tulsa Oktoberfest 🥳
If you’ve ever been, you’re probably not shocked. This threepeat is just proof that no other U.S. city does Oktoberfest quite like Tulsa.
And it’s hard to say what puts our Oktoberfest over the top… Maybe it’s the 100+ German b**r we import, the live music talent we fly in straight from Germany, the iconic bier barrel races, or our very cute and beloved Dachshund Dash, all housed in 140,000 square feet of massive tents filled with 80,000 of your closest Oktoberfest friends?
Mark your calendars for October 22-25 at River West Festival Park. The nation’s top Oktoberfest party is happening right here at home. 🍻
