Word.
The psychedelic field talks a lot about healing.
So if the psychedelic field is serious about healing, we have to ask:
Who has been harmed the most?
Who is being centered now?
Who gets access to care?
Who gets left behind?
In this powerful article, Sia Henry, J.D. challenges the psychedelic movement to reckon with the reality that the War on Drugs was never just about drugs. It was about control, criminalization, racialized policing, community destabilization, and generations of trauma.
Too often, psychedelic policy conversations center veterans and first responders while leaving out poor, Black, Brown, and system-impacted communities that have carried the direct consequences of drug criminalization.
If psychedelics are truly about repair, transformation, and justice, then access cannot stop at private clinics, elite retreats, or narrowly defined medical pathways.
The field needs deeper collaboration with criminal legal reform, community leaders, trauma experts, and people directly impacted by the War on Drugs.
The future of psychedelic healing may not just be about new compounds or clinical protocols.
It may be about building new systems.

This weekend, with a new executive order on psychedelic research pushing this work ahead, we’re watching history bend back toward possibility.
It’s progress, but not without tension. The roots of this work are deep, sacred, and hard-earned.
Grateful to witness the momentum. Grounded enough to question how it unfolds.
